In October 2020, Sony Interactive Entertainment revised the Hong Kong terms of service and the user agreement for PlayStation Network, a digital media entertainment service associated with PlayStation video game consoles. Some of these provisions apply to PlayStation Network users residing in mainland China, as follows:

For users with Mainland China as country / region of residence

You may not use your account or use PSN to create, reproduce, publish or disseminate any information in the following cases:

  • Opposes the basic principles in the Constitution of the People’s Republic of China (“PRC”);
  • Endangering the security of the PRC, revealing the PRC State secrets or endangering the sovereignty and unity of the PRC;
  • It harms the honor and interests of the PRC;
  • Violates PRC’s religious policies or propagates heresy or superstition;
  • spreading rumors, disrupting social order or undermining social stability;
  • obscenity, pornography, gambling, violence or incites others to commit a crime;
  • It is prohibited by PRC laws, administrative regulations and other provisions.

There is no requirement or expectation that SIE Inc. will monitor or record any online activity on PSN, including communications, unless applicable law requires otherwise. However, SIE Inc. reserves the right to monitor and record any online activity on PSN, and you give SIE Inc. your express consent to record all your activities on PSN. SIE Inc. reserves the right to remove any content from anywhere on PSN without notice at SIE Inc.’s sole discretion. SIE Inc. is not responsible for any breach of this Agreement by you or your children in associated Accounts or by any other player. SIE Inc. in connection with any breach by you or your children in the associated Accounts of this Agreement. You agree to indemnify SIE Inc. from any claim or claim made against you and that you will not hold SIE Inc. liable for any claim or claim made by you. It may be as a result of or in connection with a breach of this Agreement by another player.

We and third parties may provide functionality that allows you to share your information and recommend your favorite content, including your Online ID, real name (if you choose to show it), profile, images, events, information about your game and purchases. and services to your friends through PSN. Share your information and only send suggestions to your friends who are age-appropriate for the content and services you know you want to receive and recommend. If you share other people’s personal information, you can only do so with their express consent. If you get unsolicited messages, ask the sender to stop. However, SIE Inc. reserves the right to monitor and record any online activity conducted on PSN, and you hereby expressly agree that SIE Inc. may record all of your activities on PSN. SIE Inc. reserves the right to delete any content without notice from any location on PSN at the discretion of SIE Inc. (its discretion). SIE Inc. will not be liable for any breach of this agreement by you or your children or other users of the respective account. If your or your children’s associated account violates this agreement, SIE Inc. You agree to indemnify SIE Inc. for any claim or claim made by SIE Inc. and indemnify SIE Inc. for breach of this agreement by other users.
